Hello all,
I am in search of historical tuna specimens from the Eastern
Mediterranean, and the Black Sea region in particular. Our team works
with
both
modern and historical samples (30-2500 years old) and we are
currently working on several contracts with large international funding
sources.
We are currently attempting to reconstruct the genomic history of
bluefin
tuna
using Next Generation Sequencing technology and advanced high
throughput
genotyping. Our sampling approach is non-destructive and respectful of
all
remains. Any and all information concerning historical specimens in
museums,
private collections or heresay would be appreciated.
