Dear MECCSA Colleagues,
We are delighted to announce that a total of 185 Papers from nearly 40 countries have been accepted for presentation at our forthcoming event 'FILM AND MEDIA 2014: The Fourth Annual London Film and Media Conference - Visions of Identity: Global Film & Media'. The Papers accepted come from a vibrant mix of established and emerging scholars around the world and cover a wide and fascinating range of topics.
FILM AND MEDIA 2014 takes place on 26-28 June 2014 at the Institute of Education Conference Centre, University of London, 20 Bedford Way, Bloomsbury, London WC1H 0AL. The event features Keynotes by Professor Lawrence Goldberg (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill), on ‘Stranger in a Strange Land: Cultural Studies v the World’; Professor Mandy Merck (Royal Holloway, University of London), on ‘Identity, Celebrity and Stardom’; and Professor Daya Thussu (University of Westminster), on ’Identities in Change in the Era of Global Media and Communication’.
Alongside dozens of Panel events, the conference will also feature a screening of John Akomfrah's 'The Stuart Hall Project'. For full listings of our invited Speakers and further information, please see our website at www.thelondonfilmandmediaconference.com. On the site you can also download our free Conference Reader ebooks and learn about our next volume, 'The London Film and Media Reader 3'. Comprising sixty essays based on Papers presented at the 2013 event, this ebook will be published in early Autumn 2014.
Registration is open on our website. Our 'Early Bird' registration offer closes on April 30, after which rates rise.
With all best wishes,
Sincerely,
Phillip.
