British Company Law - 14th May - London
Course Leader: Christopher Murphy
“very important, but far too difficult for non-specialists”. This course distils the key legal principles which govern corporate activity for those who lack the time to follow lengthy conventional legal courses, through real life examples and examination of actual company documents.

Learning to Manager - 15th May - London
Course Leader: Shaida Dorabjee
Being good at a job does not automatically make someone a good manager. Those new to management may lack specific knowledge or experience or feel daunted by the challenges of their new role. This practical and participative course is aimed at first time managers and those wishing to refresh their skills in the library and information environment with line management responsibility for one or more staff.

Metadata: Principles and Practive - 19th May - London
Course Leader: David Bawden
This course is for library/information workers and demystifies the concept of metadata, showing how and why they are used, in various environments. A variety of commonly-used metadata formats will be demonstrated, for example, RDA/MARC, LOM and METS/MODS - and the way in which metadata creation relates to the "traditional" library/information tasks of indexing and cataloguing will be outlined.
