Subject: Alumni Access to Leading STM Journal Content from IEEE
The Alumni Library Forum is pleased to announce a pilot scheme to offer UK and Irish Academic Institutions Alumni access to Journal content from the IEEE (Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers).
To be launched officially at the 2014 Alumni Library Forum, the 12 month Pilot will offer your Alumni access to 160 Journal titles from the IEEE via the IEEE Xplore platform athttp://ieeexplore.ieee.org/Xplore/home.jsp
An example of the titles included are as follows:
IEEE Systems Journal
IEEE Sensors Journal
IEEE Robotics and Automation Magazine
Biomedical Engineering, IEEE Trans. on
Terms of the offer are as follows
a) 12 month pilot
b) Flat rate annual fee, same for all institutions
c) 160 Journals - see title list at http://www.ieee.org/publications_standards/publications/subscriptions/2014_aspp_title_list.xls
d) Access via Athens, Shibboleth or other mutually agreed medium whereby user attributes can be passed to IEEE
e) Access may begin any time prior to 1st November 2014 for a period of 12 months
f) Subscribers must have an existing subscription to the IEEE/IET Electronic Library
At this stage IEEE are considering this as a pilot period. All being well, continued access will be permitted for the annual fee.

About the Alumni Forum 2014 - places still available!
Manchester Business School<http://www.mbs.ac.uk/> will be hosting the second national alumni library forum on Monday 19th May between 11 am and 5pm.
The purpose of the forum is to have an event which is informative, that will highlight best practice and issues, and inspire university library service developments for alumni.
The forum will cover:
- Alumni Product demonstrations by vendors
- Library services showcase - librarians sharing experiences of running alumni library services
- Hot topics - Issues with licences and the art of negotiation
The event is free of charge and light refreshments will be provided.
