The Lancaster Centre for Forecasting offers two forecasting courses in the key areas of Business Forecasting with Causal Regression Methods and New Product Forecasting. These courses aim to give forecasting practitioners the skills necessary to apply different time series forecasting methods, and improve their accuracy.
The courses will use hands-on training exercises using MS Excel. No prior statistical skills are required, only some practical business experience in forecasting.
New Product Forecasting

- Product diffusion models:Distinguishing between adoption and sales. The logistic, Gompertz and Bass models. Using data from analogous products to make forecasts.
Business Forecasting with Causal Regression Methods

- Time series and causal variable analysis: What drives your demand? Discover and estimate causal effects for your data.
- How to forecasting using external drivers? Construct regression models for forecasting and capture the dynamics of your data, external drivers as well as special events and new policies.
- Evaluating forecasts: Comprehend the different accuracy measures and their importance. Develop processes for improving and monitoring your accuracy.
