I am posting this on behalf of the University of Leicester's Transforming Thresholds project that I have had a tiny part in - and learnt a lot from! Please do sign up asap if you'd like to come along - it is a free event.
Transforming Thresholds Festival
28-29 April, University of Leicester
How well does the entrance to your museum welcome visitors? Can ideas from retail, gaming or performance help?
The AHRC Transforming Thresholds Research Network has been investigating how best to make use of entrance spaces in museums to better support visitors. In our Festival, we bring together fresh perspectives on entrance spaces to museums and other public buildings with presentations from:
Elaine Heumann Gurian
Katherine Skellon, Event Communications
Angus Deuchars, Arup Acoustics
David Burden, Daden
Mark Howells, Forth Digital
Kim Schroder, Roskilde University
Suzanne MacLeod, Director of Museum Studies, University of Leicester.
And workshops led by:
Tracy Harwood, Retail Lab, De Montfort University
Angelina Russo, Canberra University
Erik Kristiansen, Roskilde University
The event is free of charge, but we have limited spaces available so please book a place using our Eventbrite page: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/transforming-thresholds-festival-tickets-10330395491
