Hi Clare,
Can't recommend the work of Louis Rosenfeld highly enough:
https://rosenfeldmedia.com/experts/louis-rosenfeld/
Rosenfeld Media is his publishing company. I've read a couple of their books and they've were both well written, packed with info but also mercifully short. The one that perhaps seems appropriate for someone studying search behaviour is probably:
https://rosenfeldmedia.com/books/search-analytics/
Rosenfeld's most famous book (with Peter Morville) is "Information Architecture for the World Wide Web" - which covers browsing behaviour and site structure, too. That's been one of my all-time favourite IT books for years now.
All the best.

Subject: Online collections and visitors
Hi All,
I'm looking into how visitors view and search online collections and catalogues. Can anyone point me in the right direction of research/questions I should be asking to figure out what visitors will search for and what sort of information they want about objects?
Best wishes
Clare
