I like the slides and soundtrack format (it also translates well to Youtube, et al.) but I can see how the interactivity of a webinar is just not possible in that format.
Mind, you I have the time to watch 1-2.5 hour lectures on Youtube, SQLBits, etc. in my spare time.
The publicity angle is a difficult one. I literally had no idea that this series was a series, as my first word of it was yesterday morning's announcement of what turns out to have been the fourth in a series.
I suppose the only answer is just to keep plugging them until you know you have covered all possible ways of announcing them. I know you then run the risk of annoying everyone with excessive announcements, but we will at least know they are available.
Within any announcement, a link to the current (or upcoming) webinar along with another link to the rest of the series would be appreciated.
Lastly, thanks for making these available. We now know about them and they should prove interesting and hopefully useful.

Many thanks for your message. I wanted to reply to the whole list to ask for views on how we proceed with these webinars, since this was very much a pilot effort and we are interested in whether or not to take them forward.
The webinar yesterday was actually the 4th in a series, which has included sessions on IPR and licensing and managing archives in museums.
We promoted them through every platform, channel and network we could find over the past 2 months, but apart from yesterday's, which had around 50 participants, they have not been well attended.
We do have recordings of the webinars, and the recordings of the previous three are accessible from http://www.collectionslink.org.uk/events/collections-management-webinars
. We will post the recording of yesterday's in around a week's time.
While feedback from delegates has been very positive, I wanted to ask for peoples' views on the following:
- Are there better ways of publicising these things so that people know they are happening? We post on sector email lists, websites, through networks, social media and other platforms, but still people commonly say that they hadn't heard about them!
- Are people generally able to engage in webinars? Noting Michael's point about open-plan offices, is this something people are likely to attend at a specific time, or would it be better to forego the webinar format and go straight to a Powerpoint and audio track, which you can watch at any time and stop and start at your convenience?
