The ARLIS Professional Development Committee are organising a combined visit to Drawing Room Library and White Cube (Bermondsey) Archive on Thursday 3rd April 2014 from 2.30pm - 4.30 pm. The visit will include talks from staff from both libraries on their history, services, archives and special collections. The visit is free of charge.
White Cube Bermondsey is the largest of this commercial contemporary art gallery's sites, and includes an archive and library in addition to the exhibition spaces. The site also hosts an education programme, and an ongoing series of artists films, feature films and lectures. The visit will include a tour of the exhibition spaces, archive and library.
Drawing Room is the only public, non-profit gallery in the UK and Europe dedicated to the investigation and presentation of international contemporary drawing. The gallery also houses Outset Study, a free, open access research hub comprising a specialist contemporary drawing library and study area. The visit will include a tour of the current exhibition by Drawing Room's curator, followed by a tour of the library.
