Research Data Manager
Salary: £34,737 - £39,903 per annum
Closing Date: 21st March 2014
Interview date: 8th April 2014

Recognising the challenges of embedding research further into the culture of the University we have created this new post to spearhead our research support activities, and envisage it working closely with other teams within LSS (Librarians, Research Repository, Records Manager etc), as well as researchers across the University. As Research Data Manager you will be responsible for mapping the needs of academics; establishing and implementing policy and processes for collecting, storing and managing access to data; and providing support and training for academic staff and researchers.
You will have considerable experience of managing the services provided by this post and be familiar with the key professional issues and best practice in the sector. Educated with a relevant qualification or significant relevant experience, you will have experience of managing and developing university repositories containing research outputs, theses and research data and ensuring compliance with access conditions, be an excellent communicator, and have a flexible approach to working in a complex, busy environment.
