I'm thinking about it mindful of the fact that I spend a lot of money going to conferences and for what?
Are there any bursaries I can apply for as I will need to this year as I will already have exhausted my finances attending Normalcy and Autscape over summer.

Lancaster Disability Studies Conference 9-11 September 2014 Call for Papers We invite the submission of abstracts for either symposium, paper or poster presentations on current research, ideas and developments in disability studies. The reviewing committee welcomes submissions from all areas of Disability Studies and in particular from the following areas:
• Impact of global economic changes
• War, conflict and political change
• Independent living, rights and citizenship
• Normalcy and diversity
• Madness, distress and disability
• Culture, history and arts
• The ‘Global South’: Disability in low and middle income countries
• Theoretical and methodological ideas and debates
• Assistive Technologies
• Hate crime and abuse
• Politics and policies
Peter Beresford (Brunel University & Shaping our Lives) and Brigit Morris Colton (Lancaster University) are convening a conference stream on Mad Studies. With the publication of the Canadian study Mad Matters, Mad Studies are now gaining a higher profile internationally. Abstracts for symposium, papers or posters charting the work going on in this area, the contribution this field offers and its relationship with Disability Studies would be welcomed. The reviewing committee would also welcome abstracts for poster presentations about the work of organisations, networks and groups which are related to disability studies.
The deadline for submissions is 16th March 2014.
