The Bayreuth International Graduate School of African Studies (BIGSAS) at
the University of Bayreuth in Germany offers three fully funded PhD
scholarships beginning 10/2014 in the following research areas:
- Culture and Technology in Africa
- Media in Africa
- Development Economics in Africa
The successful candidate in the area 'Culture and Technology in Africa' will
be supervised by me - please feel free to get in touch with inquiries via
[log in to unmask] I particularly welcome applications on questions of
(renewable) energy and energopolitics in Africa. If you are interested in
pursuing a PhD in this area, but do not have a concrete research proposal
yet, please also get in touch with me as there may be an opportunity to link
your PhD topic to a developing research project.
Applicants must have an excellent Master’s Degree. Applications may be sent
in German, English or French.
The working language of BIGSAS is English.
