22nd May 2014, 13:30-17:10, Statistical Inference of Networks
Location: Royal Statistical Society, 12 Errol Street, London, EC1Y 8LX
***********************************************************
Networks have become a paradigm of science and society. Social developments, such as the rise of the internet, have brought the idea of networks to the public's attention. The aim of this meeting is to show the statistical advances and challenges behind network inference and the range of applications where these methods are needed, with examples including social networks and biological networks.
There will be talks by four excellent speakers in the field: Prof Patrick Wolfe (UCL), Dr Ginestra Bianconi (Queen Mary), Prof Dirk Husmeier (University of Glasgow) and Prof Ernst Wit (University of Groningen).
