Full Time Fixed Term for up to 22 months
We have an exciting opportunity for a medical statistician to join a
primary care research team using large primary care databases including
CPRD and THIN. The post-holder will lead analysis on projects with these
databases including a study on the health of people with learning
disability. You will join an experienced multi-disciplinary team with a
strong publication and grant record in primary care epidemiology.
You should have an MSc in statistics and at least one years’ experience
of analysis of primary care or similar large healthcare databases.
Candidate with at least three years’ experience and a doctorate are
desired and may eligible for appointment at the higher grade. Database
management and programming experience in SAS, or similar software, is
essential as well as skills in complex statistical analysis using a
range of techniques. You should have a record of peer-reviewed
publications based on your own statistical analysis. The post offers the
opportunity for experience in teaching as part of your career development.
The posts is funded full time but we welcome application from candidates
who wish to work part-time or may be interested in job share arrangements.
The salary for this post will be in the range £33,583 to £39,516 (SGUL6)
per annum inclusive of London Allowance for those meeting the minimum
requirements and in the range £40,611 to £47,908 (SGUL 7) per annum
inclusive of London Allowance for more experienced eligible candidates.
