This is an opportunity for an early to mid-career researcher with a passion for improving children's lives and an interest in seeing their research make a difference. The Social Research Unit (SRU) is a unique organisation with a 50-year history of influencing policy and practice in children's services with high quality research.
We are offering a highly competitive salary, a good pension scheme and the option to be based in our central London office at Somerset House or in our head office in Dartington, Devon. We are willing to consider secondments or part-time working for the right applicant and will cover reasonable relocation costs.
The successful applicant will join the 'What works' team to lead two impact evaluations within the Realising Ambition programme funded by the Big Lottery Fund. Realising Ambition is £25 million investment over 5 years in evidence-based and promising interventions to prevent young people getting involved in anti-social behaviour. The Big Lottery Fund have a particular interest in increasing the number of approaches that have been rigorously evaluated and have the potential to be replicated.
As well as working on this programme, the Research Fellow will have the opportunity to work with colleagues at SRU to develop proposals for new research and development projects, to publish in peer-refereed journals and to contribute to dissemination activities. This is a permanent position with opportunity for rapid career progression.
