Call for Papers: Innovative Language Teaching and Learning at University: Enhancing Student Performance

CALL FOR PAPERS DEADLINE: 1 March 2014
The School of Modern Languages and Cultures at The University of Leeds is organising the fourth annual conference in the ‘Innovative language teaching and learning at university’ series. Following great success in Newcastle (2011), Bristol (2012), and Manchester (2013) this year’s one day event will be focussing on enhancing student performance.
We welcome papers on any past and present projects or case studies focusing on innovative ways to enhance student performance in Modern Languages at university, including English as a Foreign Language. We would be particularly interested in the following areas:
· The use of technology
· Assessment of/for learning
· Content Integrated Language Teaching (CLIL)
· Intercultural awareness (support and development)
· Employability
· Year Abroad
· Classroom dynamics/management
· Students as producers
Abstracts are invited for a 20-minute presentation/workshop in a titled, single-spaced attachment of not more than 300 words in length, with name, address and affiliation in the body of an email address to: [log in to unmask] Those who submit a paper will be notified by 15th of March.
