Apologies for cross posting
I'm researching historic audio collections and their use as my dissertation subject for a masters in Digital Heritage at the University of Leicester. I'd be very grateful if anyone working in an organisation which holds a collection of historic audio recordings of any size would be willing to spend a few minutes answering some questions about it.
The link to the survey is: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/audio_archive_collections The information you give can be anonymous if you prefer and will only be used for my dissertation.
I'm using the collections of the Royal Institution (where I work) as a case study as our audio archive is what set me thinking about the subject: we have several hundred recordings in various media but they are currently not digitised or accessible to the public and are therefore almost unknown. If you'd like to know a bit more about my project and the Ri audio collection I've got a blog post up on the Ri website with a sample clip from one of the very few reels which have been digitised: http://www.rigb.org/blog/2014/february/unheard-history-of-the-friday-evening-discourses There's a survey attached to the bottom but this is from an user's perspective so please use the link to the survey in this email instead.
Thank you for any help you can give, if you have any specific comments or queries please do get in touch.
Yours sincerely,
Jane Harrison
