Scotland’s referendum: statistical perspectives
On 26th March, six months in advance of the referendum on Scottish independence, the Glasgow and Edinburgh Local Groups and the Business and Industrial Section of the RSS will hold an event in which four speakers will offer their perspectives on statistical aspects of the referendum and its potential consequences:
Jim Cuthbert (statistician) & Margaret Cuthbert (economist) - The medium is (very much) the message.
David Walsh (Glasgow Centre for Population Health) - Scotland: health, its determinants, and the potential implications of independence.
Roger Halliday (Chief Statistician) - The production of official statistics.
John Curtice (University of Strathclyde) - The performance of the polls.
