SAS Statistical Programmer
University of Oxford - NDPH, Richard Doll Building
(Ref: 111311)
Grade 7: £29,541 - £36,298 p.a.
Vascular Disease Mega-trials and Genetic Epidemiology
The newly established University Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) contains world-renowned population health research groups and it provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching.
The very large-scale data that are increasingly available provide the opportunity for many exciting and extensive investigations but require well-structured data manipulation and statistical programming to yield their full potential. We are seeking to recruit a programmer with excellent programming skills, and interest in epidemiology and associated statistics, to support and develop the use of large-scale resources. You should have programming expertise either directly in SAS, or in another high-level language with an ability to transfer between languages, and an aptitude and a keen interest in transferring skills to others. You will be competent to work on investigations independently as well as part of a team. You will have a PhD or MSc in a numerate or computational discipline and a good understanding of statistical concepts and techniques.
This post provides an excellent opportunity to develop experience and expertise within a leading academic unit with an unrivalled reputation for promoting the use of large studies that can reliably identify findings important to population health.
This is a full time post and is fixed term for two years in the first instance.
The closing date for applications is 12.00 noon on 25th March 2014.
