One word of caution (which has nothing to do with the middle ages): while
vinegar is acidic, ammonia and most other cleaning solutions are alkaline.
If you mix acids and alkalis, you tent to get salts, which can cause
staining of a different kind. Make sure all the acidic materials dry fully
before adding anything alkaline.
