medieval-religion: Scholarly discussions of medieval religion and culture
This is indeed a very interesting parallel, with the tiny triangular hat
quite unlike the usual much larger one. (And yes, whoever wrote
"debased" was probably not a medievalist!)
Given the major post-medieval changes in the west front of Notre-Dame de
Paris, however, I am very hesitant to base any interpretation on this
figure. It looks suspiciously C19 to me-- any N-D experts following this
thread?
