Subject: Masters in clinical research opportunity for midwives
Dear List Members
City University London has NIHR funded bursary places on our Masters in Clinical Research Programme. This programme is particularly designed for health practitioners who want to develop their knowledge and skills of research relevant to practice. It has been very well evaluated by previous students, some of whom are now progressing to application for NIHR PhD fellowships.
The NIHR bursaries (12 for 2014/15) will be available to NHS health professionals to commence the MRes programme in October 2014 and will cover full salary and tuition fee costs for the duration of the programme (12 months full-time or 24 months part-time). Online applications received by 27th June 2014 will be considered for one of the bursaries. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to interview on either Thursday 17th or Friday 18th July 2014.
The competition for bursaries is quite tough so we also encourage professionals who wish to take this programme to consider other potential sources of funding as well. Further information on the MRes Clinical Research programme and details of how to apply can be found on the City website: http://www.city.ac.uk/courses/postgraduate/clinical-research-mres#course-detail=0
The programme leader is Eamonn McKeown and he would be happy to answer queries.
Apologies to international members but please note that although this programme is open to all, these bursaries only apply to UK professionals. Please note also that our school runs a masters in midwifery programme, with a more standard research component, for those who wish to take a masters specifically in midwifery.
