Apologies for cross posting.
The Historical Metallurgy Society is organising a meeting in Ireland on the
weekend of the 12th and 13th of April. The theme will be Irish ironworking.
Saturday will consist of a field trip to several well-preserved 17th and
early 18th century blast furnaces. Sunday morning we will visit the
metalworking site of the East India Company (blast furnace and finery,
1610s) and in the early afternoon Tim Young and Paul Rondelez will give an
overview of the current knowledge of Irish ironworking together with an
exhibition of some of the typical, and some unusual, remains.
