Dear Britarch list members
Apologies for cross-posting.
Members may be interested in the updated version of Our Portable Past, the English Heritage statement on best practice for portable antiquities, now available from the English Heritage website http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/publications/ourportablepast/ .
This amended edition of the statement includes greater emphasis on post-fieldwork processes, including archiving and documentation and more information on project development and the integration of various techniques.
The project to update this document was carried out as part of the National Heritage Protection Plan (NHPP) Activity on understanding more about Ploughzone Archaeology. http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/professional/protection/national-heritage-protection-plan/plan/activities/4g2.
You can keep up with the progress of NHPP in general through our twice-yearly reports http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/professional/protection/national-heritage-protection-plan/progress-reports/.
