An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic software developer to join a
small, vibrant e-Learning Team at the University of Bath. Based within the
Learning and Teaching Enhancement Office (LTEO), the post holder’s primary
role is to lead on the technical development and maintenance of a robust and
resilient e-learning environment that underpins the University’s teaching
practices and is mission critical to the excellent student learning
experience we offer students. This will include, but is not limited to, the
support and development of Moodle which is the University’s Virtual Learning
Environment.
The post holder will be expected to think creatively and strategically about
e-learning software development and implementation, to complement the
University’s digital environment and work within a team-based approach to
lead the technical delivery e-learning innovations. A key part of the role
will involve understanding academic and administrative requirements and
tailoring solutions to meet these requirements.
Working closely with the other members of the e-Learning Team (including one
other Educational Software and Systems Developer) and with wider support
teams at the University of Bath, the successful candidate will maintain an
oversight of technical projects within LTEO and be in a position to advise
on the technical deployment of systems to effectively support learning and
teaching. As the lead developer in the team, the post holder will be
expected to take ownership and responsibility for the quality of all code
produced by e-Learning Team members.
