Spatial Information Product Developer - Permanent - £35-£40K - Midlands
Triad Resourcing have been approached by one of our clients to assist with the recruitment of a Spatial Information Product Developer. The role is permanent paying upto £40k. This role will be based out of my clients the Midlands Offices.
Main Purpose of the job
•To lead on the development of new spatial information products from the clients data and information assets,
•To research and identify new market opportunities for the clients data and information products and services.
•To identify opportunities to combine the clients data with data from other organisations to develop commercial products.
•To develop business cases to support the expansion of the clients portfolio of information products and services
Responsibilities
•Develop and maintain a thorough understanding and awareness of the clients data assets in order to identify commercial opportunities for information products and services
•Apply knowledge of wider UK environmental data to identify partnering opportunities for commercial information product development
•Apply advanced GIS skills to develop value-added information products from data sources in response to commercial user needs
•Apply data-set version control processes to enable simultaneous management of internal operation versions and external published versions
•Produce technical and customer documentation to accompany launch of information products into commercial markets
•Contribute to the embedding of a more commercial and entrepreneurial culture in line wit the clients brand, values and reputation.
Person Specification;
Degree or equivalent qualification in an environmental science topic or related subject. A higher level (e.g. Masters) qualification in GIS is desirable but not essential provided the candidate can demonstrate a suitable track record that meets the requirements of the job description.
•Knowledge of conveyancing sector, and the environmental reporting industry
•A proven track record in developing spatial information products for commercial applications
•Experience and knowledge of the following is highly desirable:
othe engineering and environmental legacy of mining
othe UK environmental data landscape
othe UK residential and commercial property industry and related environmental legislation (planning, contaminated land etc.)
oUK government legislation and guidelines on public sector information supply.
•Advanced GIS (Geographic Information Systems) development and data analysis skills, preferably using the ESRI ArcGIS software suite
•Strong commercial aptitude and skills
•Knowledge of the conveyancing sector, insurance industry, environmental reporting industry, and other potential markets in the ‘information economy’
•Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, for documentation and training purposes
•Excellent inter-personal skills, enabling successful working with customers and across the business
•High level of organization and planning skills
•The ability to deliver high quality outputs to tight deadlines
Full driver’s licence, competency with use of Microsoft Office software
