An opportunity has arisen for a medical statistician/statistical programmer, with good programming skills, to join a team working on data from large-scale clinical trials and epidemiological studies as part of the Heart Studies Group. This post provides an excellent opportunity for a medical statistician/statistical programmer to develop their experience and expertise by joining a world-class team of statisticians, epidemiologists, and clinical scientists. The successful candidate will provide statistical and programming expertise and support to CTSU's clinical trial, epidemiological and genetic research programme and will be actively involved in study design, data preparation and analyses, preparation of reports and presentation of research. The postholder will be given the opportunity to expand their skills and encouraged to attend relevant scientific courses and to undertake other regular training. The appointee will work under the overall direction and supervision of Dr Jemma Hopewell, Senior Scientist in Genetic Epidemiology and Clinical Trials, and will also work closely with other medical statisticians and clinical epidemiologists at CTSU. An MSc or PhD in statistics, epidemiology or other related scientific discipline and experience of undertaking statistical analyses using SAS, R/S-PLUS or Stata are essential.
This post is full-time and fixed-term for 2 years, in the first instance.
