On a smaller scale, a plan to walk around Exeter prison, remembering Mandela's 27 years imprisonment.
I aim to take 54 minutes to do this, starting at the clock tower, bottom of Elm Grove road at 4 pm, along with the start of Dee's walk. Every 2 minute period to mark an aspect of Mandela's life in prison:
1. ‘Dis die Eiland!’
2. Seals
3. Without books
4. Gravel
5. Limestone
6. The glare of the sun
7. Solitary
8. Island wildlife
9. ‘Comrades, let’s be slower than ever!’
10. 6 feet square
11. 46664
12. Jogging
13. Keys
14. Sprinkling sand
15. A message in a matchbox
16. ‘I am as one building castles in the air’
17. Lunch bell
18. The right to study
19. O wye en droewe land, alleen
onder die groot suidersterre.
Sal nooit 'n hoë blydskap kom
deur jou stil droefenis?
20. ‘Wounds that can’t be seen’
21. Letters home
22. Censors
23. Cold water washing
24. A game of chess
25. A garden
26. Release
27. 2013
Then going to the small memorial in Bedford Square.
Do join me, anyone who would like to.
Cathy

Walking in remembrance of Nelson Mandela
To coincide with a Nelson Mandela Place Walk taking place in Glasgow by Deirdre Heddon and the events happening on an international scale, Deveron Arts will also perform a Nelson Mandela Memorial Walk around the Huntly Square on Sunday 15th at 8am, led by South African artist, Jacques Coetzer.
We will walk 19 times around the square to commemorate 19 years of South African democracy since 1994, when he became president.
At 9am GMT we will watch the funeral broadcast in the Huntly Hotel. All are welcome to join us.
