Dear Colleagues,
I'm putting together a short discussion paper on managing student behaviour in a newly refurbished and re-purposed library space. The building will now also house frontline support for other services such as student services, finance, academic registry and IT support.
The space will include social learning spaces, group working areas and quiet and silent study. We realise that out traditional library approach in these matters will need to change to accommodate the changing use of the building .
Can colleagues share their experiences and best practice in the management of/ or influencing of behaviour in such spaces. I’d be interested to hear what polices have been developed to give staff and students a clear framework.
