Thanks Wahid. Removing /opt/globus and /opt/lcg seems to have done the
trick. This is in fact mentioned in the instructions I was following,
but it wasn't clear to me that *everything* in these directories could
safely be removed.
Now at least YAIM claims to have completed successfully...
