Dear David,
It may be because they are picking up different ketones, although interestingly you may expect to pick up some level of B OH butyrate on the meter. Alternatively there may be some cross contamination from the nappy or reader problems (? Urine colour).. Is the diagnosis confirmed ? how old is the child? Depending on how the child is I would consider measuring urine organic acids. This may also help to identify potential contaminants.
Best wishes
Paul

Is there any experience of POC testing in urine extracted from a nappy? Protocol states fresh urine, no additives used.
Ketone 4+ (using reader) reported from diabetic baby but not confirmed in blood ketone test. (zero).
Original sample discarded. Awaiting fresh urine sample (not from nappy).
David
