Dear FSL group,
We would like to apply bandpass filtering to our data, as part of preprocessing resting—state fMRI data in a seed-based analysis. However, after looking through various posts, it is still not very clear what values we should use.
We want to apply a banpass filter of 0.008-0.10 Hz and our TR is 2.2 sec. My question is which cutoff values (seconds or sigma’s) should be used to accomplish this? Also, is it possible to apply this bandpass by adjusting the numbers in the design.fsf file (given that lowpass filter option is hidden in the GUI) or should we use fslmaths? Relatedly, is it correct that in the design.fsf file values are in seconds, while the fslmaths command line expects sigma's?
Finally, is it in general wise to apply a lowpass filter on RS fMRI data?
Look forward to your response.
Best,
Mark Olivetti
