Data Management in Practice: Producing high-quality data for use in
future research
Thursday November 14th, 1.30 - 5pm.
London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, Keppel Street, London,
WC1E 7HT
Research data represents a key research output, but one that is
underutilised by many research projects. This half day workshop will
examine how researchers can enhance their research impact by producing,
managing and sharing research data in a manner that enables it to be
accessed, understood and used in the short and long-term.
The workshop brings together a number of health researchers and data
management experts to explore:
- The role of research data within the research process and how it may
be used beyond the project lifetime
- Challenges and issues that must be considered when producing research
data
- Practical steps that can be taken to make your own data easier to
access, understand, and use
Presentations will draw upon experience gained in a wide range of
research projects, considering issues related to quantitative and
qualitative research.
Who should attend?
The workshop is relevant to academic staff involved in active research,
as well as librarians, archivists and data managers in support roles.
