Hi Sarah - we are producing an "UN"-science festival next year, which will be a collision of Arts with Science. We are planning to avoid use of the word science in its title because we want to engage communities who would not normally not engage with science, but are planning to have a celebration of comedy, music, film, gaming and events all underpinned by scientific principles. We are partnered by Middlesex University (under their widening participation scheme) and the University of London Centre for Creative Collaboration (which includes Goldsmiths, and the RCA among others)
The working title is Uberfest, but this will probably change! For the first year we are focussing on events in London Boroughs which have a low uptake of young people into STEM careers and degrees, but we will be taking it outside of London from 2015 onwards.
It would be great to speak to you about some of the Arts organisations we are already involving in the festival and see whether there are any potential partnership opportunities?
We're keen to speak to as many of you on the PSICOM list as possible if you represent an organisation that would have an interest in being involved in the festival, so please drop me a line [log in to unmask] for more information.
Best wishes
Lindsay
