Dear all,
Sorry for the noise, but my curiosity got the better of me. Looking
through the GOC DB for RAL-LCG2 and RALPP [1] I have not found any
gridFTP servers listed.
I found this unusual as the service type exists, but accepted it as
common practice.
However, since we recently had problems with one of our servers, I was
curious if useful tests for the gridFTP service existed and added it
to GOC DB for Bristol [2].
The results are here:
https://gridppnagios.physics.ox.ac.uk/nagios/cgi-bin/status.cgi?navbarsearch=1&host=gridftp*bris.ac.uk
Since both servers now work and both fail the tests (passing first 3
steps, failing 4th [3]) I assume that the tests are meaningless?
If yes, wouldn't it be better to remove them?
If no, is it crucial for a site to pass them (has anyone have their
gridFTP servers registered in GOC DB?)
Cheers,
Luke
