Hi Dan
I was talking about the higher level model. Even if you are only
interested in the group mean you have to set p one EV in the higher
level GLM. I remember seeing your original message "can't read
'fmri(evg2.1)'" when I added a subject and had adjusted the model
accordingly. I am not sure this is the problem, though, because you said
the error only occurs with some subjects and not with others. Maybe
someone else can jump in here.
Your other message (can't set "fmri(reghighres_dof)": can't read
"map(BBR)": no such element in array) is to be related to the fact that
the FSL 5.0.4 uses BBR for B0 unwarping and the older version does not.
Best
Udo

This is true for both those subjects who present no problems when added to the level 3 analysis, and for those who produce an error message when added to the level 3 analyses. As best I can tell, there's no problem with these EVs being referenced correctly, since, at the individual subjects level (levels 1 and 2), all analyses are or (at least, appear to be) carried out correctly. My inputs for the problematic third-level analysis are lower-level feat directories that result from these analyses, i.e.,:

That being the case, I'm not sure what EVs you might be suggesting that I double-check--though I do appreciate the suggestion. Sorry--could you clarify?

Moreover, I get this error message even when I include only subjects who produce no error message under the newer version of the software. The full error output (for FSL 4.1.9; Feat 5.9.8) is copied below.
