Lectureship in Human Geography

Salary (£) 30424 - 44607 per annum
The Department of Geography at Durham University seeks to appoint a Lecturer (Grade 7/8) in Human Geography from the 1st January 2014. He/she will have expertise in techniques such as geospatial analysis, participatory GIS, data visualization and data analytics that will complement and extend our current work in one or more of the following research clusters:
Culture-Economy-Life
Geographies of Health and Wellbeing
Politics - State - Space
Urban Worlds
The successful candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field, demonstrate a track record of, or potential for, internationally excellent publications and external funding. The successful candidate will show a commitment to delivering excellent teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and master’s-level teaching with a focus on geospatial data and quantitative data analysis. In addition to their research, the successful candidates will perform departmental administrative tasks commensurate with their grade and contribute to our wider human geography teaching programme.
