I am asked to post these job opportunities. Please respond directly to

(1) Statistician in Analytic Digital Commerce

http://www.summit.co.uk/careers/statistician-in-analytic-digital-commerce/

Summit Media is a highly successful business started twelve years ago,
its focus has always been on developing its workforce and giving
opportunities for individuals to succeed. It currently works delivering
both eCommerce and online marketing for a large number of national and
international clients, including Argos.
As one example, suppose you want to buy a laptop. What you might do is
go to a search engine such as Google or Bing and type laptop (known as
the keyword) in the search field. If you are using Google, what you may
see are some sponsored links (adverts), as well as the results of
natural search offered by Google's search algorithm. The sponsored links
appear because the keyword you typed is a keyword that a company has
paid Google to display whenever someone searches for it. Sometimes there
is a list of sponsoring companies on the right-hand-side of the screen,
depending on which search engine you use. Although this is a rather a
simplification, broadly what happens is that if you then click on the
advert, the sponsoring company will pay Google - or the search engine
you used - a small amount. This is called pay per click (PPC). The
browsing and purchasing history of potential customers results in an
enormous volume of data. For example, for every keyword for a given
sponsor, there may be a daily summary which reports the total number of
adverts shown, the resulting number of visits, the total amount paid by
the sponsoring company for the clicks, the total sales revenue generated
by the clicks, and so forth. One of Summit Media's tasks is to maximise
the flow of traffic to a client, and we do this by managing the keywords
and prices paid per click using our expertise. This expertise is based
on models constructed by our statisticians and our industry knowledge.
This is an exciting opportunity in an area which is dynamic and with
high value and considerable potential, and will suit someone wishing to
make a career in statistics in a vibrant company with UK-leading
prospects in statistical management of digital commerce.
We are looking for a talented statistician who will assist with the
construction and exploitation of statistical models relating to Summit’s
eCommerce management. You will be conversant with R programmes and use
this knowledge to investigate factors that are likely to affect our
management of digital commerce.
This is an exciting opportunity in an area which is dynamic, has high

commensurate and we will expect you to hit the ground running. If you
are currently or recently graduating with a first degree, in-house
training and support will be provided and we will give you more time to
