Hi There !
> How much have online discussion forums really changed the way we research

who is "we" in "the way we research and write about art"
Who is actually writing and taking part in those online art
discussion ? Background, professions, socio-economical
level, cultural and academic level ? From which part of the
world are they from ?
Do we have different demographics depending on different
lists ? In time ? (= from the "early days" of the "lists" to
the Twitter era ?)
I would be interested in a serious sociological research of
the people who write in lists and take part in discussion.
I have the guess that this would change our views on the
questions listed below.
> How has free online art discussion impacted the art critical professions?
> Have we witnessed the beginning of the end for the salarIed art critic
> and/or a rise in the independent art critical practitioner?
or a mean for social promotion for (media) art critical
professionals that were looking for social and professional
recognition within their (academic - institutional) milieu ?
