We are seeking to appoint a qualitative health researcher to develop and
undertake a nested qualitative study within a clinical trial examining
whether an intervention to promote increased awareness of decreased
fetal movement reduces stillbirth (AFFIRM trial). Semi-structured
interviews with pregnant women and health care providers will be
conducted to assess the acceptability of the package of care and any
barriers to its implementation.
You will have a PhD in a relevant social science discipline, with
demonstrable experience of qualitative research methods, preferably in a
health related area. The appointee will be well-organised, have
excellent communication skills, a high level of accuracy in all aspects

with Professor Jane Norman at the Centre for Reproductive Health,
Queen’s Medical Research Institute, The Medical School, The University
