PORT <http://www2.sas.ac.uk/igrs/port/> (http://port.igrs.sas.ac.uk/) stands for Postgraduate Online Research Training. This is a handy on-line resource designed specifically for postgraduates in the Modern Languages. Easily accessible and free of charge, it is frequently updated with news, resources and feeds of interest to the Modern Languages. It is recommended you consult it regularly since various workshops and seminars listed below link to PORT. PORT is also a unique source of specialized advice on Czech, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish / Hispanic archives, libraries and research resources, with links to Francophone resources currently being added on.

Archive Skills training with the Wiener Library's longstanding archivist Howard Falksohn. This training session will help students acquire skills to locate archival material on subjects including: the Holocaust, twentieth-century German history and European Jewish culture. It will also provide students with skills to access these materials and make use of their content.

The session will be followed by the tour of the Wiener Library. This begins with a group tour of the Library's exhibition 'The First Holocaust Archive: 80 Years of Alfred Wiener's Library', following on a tour of the Wolfson Reading Room. After this there will also be an opportunity for smaller groups to visit the library collections in the basement.
