Hi, Martin. I'd like to recommend Nigel Goldsmith. He's not local to York, but he worked here at Jisc Digital Media for around 9 years teaching our photography and digital image courses to people in HE, FE, museums and more. He's now freelance and would do a great job.

Subject: [MCG] Photographic training
<http://www.yorkmuseumstrust.org.uk>
Hi,
I am interested in bringing in a photographer who has done collections photography for museums to run some training sessions for our digital team and curators. We have an array of Nikon cameras (Digital SLRs), some basic lighting and a few spaces to do the photography. There are two elements to this. Getting the basics across for consistent image capture and overcoming some of the technical barriers to taking shots with the cameras we have.
We want to raise the standard of digital imaging by removing the barriers for staff to capture our collections and offer them ongoing internal support when it comes to photography.
We are based in York, so someone local/regional would be great.
Any recommendations would be very much appreciated.
Kind regards,
