Hi,
GAMA is an open-source platform that provides a complete modeling and simulation development environment for building spatially explicit agent-based simulations.
It is being developed and maintained by French (UMMISCO, IDEES, IRIT) and Vietnamese (MSI, DREAM) research teams since 2007 and has been used in numerous complex socio-environmental case studies since then.
Its latest version, GAMA 1.6, is now available.
GAMA 1.6 supports:
• The definition of agents from arbitrarily complex GIS data, databases and data files.
• The programming of agents using different control architectures (reflex-based, finite state machine, task-based)
• The integration of different topological layers (continuous, grids, graphs) to define environments.
• The coupling of mathematical, agent-based, cellular automata sub-models within a same model.
• The execution of simulations composed of vast numbers of agents (up to millions).
• The definition of multi-level models, based on (dis)aggregation methods and nested agent species.
• The definition of several experiments per model, each defining its own input parameters, outputs and visualizations.
• The exploration of the parameters space of models, for calibration or validation, using systematic, guided or optimization-based techniques.
• The inspection of all components of a running simulation though a rich user interface.
• The interaction of users with a running simulation through actions on agents and user-controlled panels.
• A rich visualizations of simulations, using multiple views, multi-layer 2D/3D views and agent aspects.
GAMA 1.6 can be freely downloaded at https://code.google.com/p/gama-platform/ and comes pre-loaded with several models, tutorials and a complete on-line documentation.
Enjoy !
Cheers,
Alexis
