Hi Tracy,
We have just recently done a similar thing at Walkers through IAM's. Quality ruled that the pedometers could not go into the plant but there was a control measure set up to work out on average how much people would have done whilst at work and they were then able to record that via the website. We were unable to find anything that would meet the quality standards and be allowed into plant.

Subject: [OCC-HEALTH] Food industry friendly pedometers
Hi - I am trying to put together a proposal to increase fitness within the work place. I would like to do a pedometer challenge however we are concerned regarding using the pedometers in the meat factory environment. Any ideas would be welcome please. Has anyone done this in the food industry it seems as though technical are worried that the pedometers may break or parts get into the food. May be you know of some unbreakable or metal detectable ones on the market. Thanks Tracy.
