Following the popularity of the last event, there will be another ARA Core Training event on Copyright running on Monday 18th November at John Rylands Library, Deansgate, Manchester.
This course offers practical and relevant training in copyright, and will instil delegates with confidence to manage copyright demands in their own workplace. It is essential to those working with both archives and current records.
The morning session will be delivered by Dr Ellie Pridgeon who will take a comparative approach to managing copyright in 2 very different institutions; Wiltshire Heritage and the Museum of Science and Industry.
The afternoon session will comprise a talk led by copyright expert Tim Padfield. It will include recent and forthcoming changes in UK copyright law. This will be followed by a question and answer session.
This training session offers a unique opportunity for discussion and provision of advice in an informal environment, and will give delegates the chance to exchange information, advice and ideas about copyright skills. It is also an opportunity to start thinking about instigating or reviewing copyright procedures in your workplace, and about developing your own knowledge of copyright law.
Places cost £30 for ARA members, and £40 for non-members. Please download a booking form from www.archives.org.uk/training/training. Please remember to quote C2013-009 on your booking form. There was unprecedented demand for the last Copyright course, so early booking is receommended.
There will be 3 Free Places for ARA members available on this course under the Core Training Free Places scheme. This scheme also offers assistance with travel costs. To apply please download an application form at www.archives.org.uk/ara-core-training/core-training-free-places or email [log in to unmask] The deadline for submissions is 12 noon on Friday 18th October.
