This is a cancer epidemiology biostatistics PhD studentship to investigate
the following questions:
- What is the current burden and projected future burden of oral cancer (and other subsites of head and neck cancer) in Scotland and (if possible) UK?
- How does the burden relate to dental practitioner / practice location in Scotland?
- Are there missed / potential opportunities for opportunistic oral cancer screening?
A range of advance statistical methods will be employed to analyse cancer registry, health service and linked datasets.
Advanced statistical knowledge and skills including programming in a statistical package (e.g. SAS) are essential.
Previous training and or experience in epidemiology and biostatistics is desirable.
Awareness of information governance and record-linkage processes is also desirable.
