Dear Colleagues,
ARA West Midlands Region will be hosting an ARA Core Training day on the subject of New and Refurbished Buildings in Worcester on Monday 23rd September 2013
This course offers practical and relevant training in new and refurbished archive buildings for those considering embarking on a project, or wishing to discover more about the topic for their own CPD.
The programme will introduce participants to the key issues and themes involved in the planning and construction of new and refurbished archive buildings. Talks and workshops delivered by experienced professionals – namely Isobel Siddons (TNA), Elizabeth Oxborrow-Cowan (Consultant Archivist), Chris Woods (National Conservation Service), Tom Roy (Link51) and Lisa Snook (Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service) - will cover a number of key aspects, including funding procedures, PD 5454 and racking selection.
This core training programme offers a unique and informal forum for discussion and provision of advice, giving participants the chance to exchange information and ideas about archive building projects. It is also an opportunity to consider initiating your own venture, and to see behind the scenes of the celebrated Hive building.
Venue: The Hive, Worcester
Cost: £15 members (ARA members) £20 (non members)
