Our 6-year old daughter is studying ‘Life as a Victorian child’ in Year 1 at the moment and I will be joining them on a class trip to Portland Basin Museum later this week.
One of their literacy outcomes is to ‘...write labels or captions using historical information and artefacts’. The children have access to iPads and this got me thinking about what ‘apps’ there might be out there aimed at younger children that would empower them (or at the very least, give them the choice) to engage on paper or digitally.
I imagine that the children would be able to take a snapshot of an artefact that appeals to them with the option to either write (or perhaps) record information about that object. It would also have the ability to publish on the schools website or via some other social media channel.
Can anyone recommend an app that does this well, and ideally one that is aimed at younger children?
