The aim of this conference is to explore the ethical issues concerned with the conceptualisation, justification, design and implementation of poverty alleviation measures from the local to the global level. It wants to bring together these topics with the ongoing debates on global justice and to ask what an ethical or normative philosophical perspective can add to the social scientific, economic and political approaches that dominate poverty alleviation.
The conference fee is 150 Euros and covers the conference folder, coffee breaks, two lunches, the reception, the conference dinner and a guided city tour. Students can apply for a reduced fee of 75 Euros.
We encourage the submission of papers that aim to combine theoretical and practical reasoning and we also particularly welcome proposals of themed panels of 3 papers on these topics. Please send your proposal (250 words) until January 31, 2014, to [log in to unmask]
