HI Kenji and all-
Hope all is well, and nice to hear your comments.
I am also considering using Sen and Nussbaum as a framework to discuss anti-discrimination policy and disability for my dissertation (specifically the ADA in the US).
Kenji when I met you we discussed the utility of using Sen to analyze disability and poverty in areas that primarily provides services through community based rehabilitation agencies. I have not, however, come across much literature to operationalize the theory outside of the context of development and "developing" countries. Has anyone put forth any thought about the be benefits/challenges of building on their framework for discussing disability policy in wealthy and/or liberal Nations?
Thanks,
Robert Gould

Subject: Re: Conceptual framework
Dear Ramesh,
I took Sen's capability approach as my research framework for PhD thesis, " Kenji Kuno (2006): Community based rehabilitation and participation of disabled people: potentials and limitations in practice – a case study in Malaysia" (University awarding degree: University of East Anglia, UK (Doctor of Philosophy awarded 2006)
You can download part of this research framework from below: (look at DET Manual Series No. 1, Part 4) http://detforum.com/asia-pacific-disability-equality-training-det-forum-ap-det-forum/
or directly from: http://www.detforum.com/files/DET_Book1_Part4.pdf
good luck!
